“I am convinced,” wrote Saint Paul, “that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Normally when a person dies their body (or their created remains) is brought to the church for a funeral service. In some circumstances there is instead a memorial service, particularly when someone has died and, for whatever reason, the body is not available for the service.
Whatever the circumstances, Trinity Cathedral seeks to be pastorally responsible in providing for a proper and seemly burial. Services normally take place on weekdays, especially when the body will then be taken to a cemetery. Occasionally memorial services are held in the evening.
If a loved one has died, and you have not yet contacted the church, we recommend that you call the office at 408-293-7953 and let us know of your needs. We will also answer any questions you have about procedures, planning the funeral and any fees involved.
Should you desire to have the cremated remains of your loved one housed in the Trinity Columbarium we can also give you details about this and of the memorial wall plaque of remembrance for people buried elsewhere or who were unable to be buried.
Again, the number to call is 408-293-7953.
