MLK Library Tours
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. library offers tours every day. The library has more to offer than the 1.5 million items in its collections. Come see breath-taking views, explore California and local history collections, visit the Beethoven and Steinbeck centers, and view more than 30 pieces of public art. Daily tours 11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Free. 150 E. San Fernando St. 808-2181

Family days at History Park: "Every Day Heroes -Past and Present"
Meet some everyday heroes including a retired teacher in the Santa Ana Schoolhouse, a daughter of a migrant worker in the Fruit Barn, and an art collector and historian in the newly opened McKay Gallery at the Pasetta House. Kids will be able to participate in crafts activities, such as making a nurse's cap at the Doctor's Office, painting a scene at the Pasetta House, and making knee pads for prune-picking at the Fruit Barn. Tour the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph

Learn all about California's oldest Catholic parish, downtown centerpiece and national historic landmark. One-hour tours occur from 1-3 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday. Market and San Fernando streets. Free. 283-8100.
