Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, San Jose, California. A place at God's table for everyone

Membership

photo of people in pews at serviceAt the simplest level, becoming a member of Trinity involves providing us your baptism record (your confirmation record also if you have been confirmed) and requesting us in writing to put you on our roles. If your membership is already with another church, you can give us the details of that church and we write on your behalf requesting your transfer to Trinity. If you have not yet been baptized, contact one of the clergy or the office and we will talk to you about your next steps.

Usually people who want to be active members of Trinity, but who are not already active in another Episcopal church, will join a class. This will lead to confirmation, reception or the renewal of one’s baptismal vows.

Active members also pledge or offer their time, talent and a portion of their “treasure” or money to the church.

The most important part of membership, however, is becoming active in worship and the fellowship of the church. We will not interrogate you to see whether you are “one of us.” We will rather delight in the fact that you have found at Trinity a place at God’s table and, if you prefer, leave the rest to you and God.
